PCGS MS64 Saint Gaudens Coins Outrunning the Pack

The Professional Coin Grading Service (www.PCGS.com) just updated its St. Gaudens gold coin price list, and the MS64 version of common-date Saints has outpowered other Mint State versions to become the sole grade that moved up in price this week. Common-date Saint Gaudens gold coins include coins minted in 1908 (without the “In God We Trust” motto) as well as years 1923-1928.

The gold spot price increased slightly over the last 10 days, going from $1,317 to $1,325 per ounce. Circulated St. Gaudens gold coins moved up parallel to bullion, increasing by approximately $8 per ounce. MS61-MS63 versions of these Double Eagle coins remained unchanged from the previous pricing update, and MS64 Saints gained $5 each. MS65 Saints remained unchanged from last week as well.

The national average retail price for Saint Gaudens Double Eagle gold coins, according to PCGS, is as follows, with the most recent previous price listed to the right:

MS61 – $1,645 ($1,640)

MS62 – $1,695 ($1,690)

MS63 – $1,835 ($1,830)

MS64 – $1,910 ($1,905)

MS65 – $2,300 ($2,285)

PCGS formulates these prices by conducting surveys of gold coin dealers across the United States. GoldCoin.net, as a PCGS gold coin discount dealer, never buys or sells coins to the public at the PCGS list price. Investors have averaged a 2% savings in 2014 by dealing with GoldCoin.net directly, and you can learn more about the gold coin investments we offer by calling 800-425-5672 or by requesting your free gold coin e-guides below.
